Fallout 4 Lay Down Mod

Fallout 4 Lay Down Mod Server

My time with Fallout 4 is drawing to a close. I have a rack of 20 bobbleheads, an arsenal of max damage weapons and I can’t fast travel to a single point on the map and find an empty indicator icon I haven’t explored yet. So what does that mean? Time for some mods. And I can’t think of anything Fallout 4 needs more than an incredible mod based on the world of The Walking Dead.If you know anything about either the show or the game, it’s hard not to see all the places The Walking Dead and Fallout intersect. More or less, if you take all the nuclear war/’50s culture aspects out of the game, you more or less have a Walking Dead survival title as-is.

Here’s what would need to be altered at a fundamental level to put a bit more “realism” into the title, and turn it from a radiated wasteland to a zombie-ified version of Boston.- In case it isn’t obvious, the various types of Ghouls would be the new zombies. They’d have to be changed from sprinting maniacs to more shuffling and lumbering, and there would have to be a many, many more of them than what we see now.- Raiders and Gunners could stay pretty much as they are. They range from crazed cannibals to militias organized with brutal efficiency, and both suit our purposes here.- Things like Supermutants and giant irradiated animals and all the robots would have to go. That’s all a bit more sci-fi than we want, and we can really only have two “monster” classes in the The Walking Dead-ified Fallout, zombies and men.- We would have to stick with melee weapons or the types of guns that currently exist in real life.

So no laser, plasma or gamma weapons. Perhaps a few of the more creative ones could stay (the Ripper, the Railgun), but others (the Cryolater, the Broadsider) would be a bit too goofy. And in case you hadn’t noticed, a few of the guns in the game are already perfect for a Walking Dead game.- The game’s settlement building system is actually amazing for Walking Dead integration, as half the show revolves around finding a place to stay and fortifying it. As the show moves into new territory, setting up supply lines and communication between settlements is great to have as well. Really, the base-building and weapon/armor mod systems are perfect for a Walking Dead game already. Those are the basics for the potential mod, but I think the real magic would be in the character/companion angle, as the potential is there for modders to create pretty much any major character from The Walking Dead and allow them to follow you as traveling companions.

Hopefully more than one of them, which should certainly be possible through modding. You could play as Rick, and be flanked by Michonne and Carl. You could be Daryl, and have Carol and Abraham come along.

A dozen characters from the show (dead or alive) could easily be playable, and sadly the only thing we’d be missing was their voicework.New mods for Fallout 4 have been cropping up left and right, and if there have been TWD mods released, chances are they aren’t super elaborate yet. It takes a while to develop something on the scale of what I’m talking about here.Fallout: New Vegas actually had a few The Walking Dead mods for it, from what I’ve found, but. I’m talking about creating something that’s more of a fully-fledged game, rather than just a couple cosmetic skins. My secret, ultimate motivation for talking about all this? While a Fallout 4 Walking Dead mod would be fantastic, I would kill for someone at AMC or in Robert Kirkman’s camp to realize that this is the kind of game The Walking Dead needs to make, rather than what they’ve been putting out so far.I loved Telltale’s series when it first debuted, which focused heavily on story and not as much on combat. But since then, we’ve seen nothing but really terrible Walking Dead games, either horribly made first person shooters or forgettable mobile titles.

Lie

Someone, somewhere needs to partner with a big-time publisher and get an open world Walking Dead game made in the vein of Fallout. It would not have to be as ridiculously expansive as Fallout 4, as there are plenty of sandbox games that aren’t that massive, but it should definitely draw inspiration from Bethesda’s series. The potential is there for a fantastic combat-heavy game set in The Walking Dead universe, the likes of which the series hasn’t even come close to making at this point.Maybe it will take a high-quality mod to prove this, and I hope that someone takes up this flag and runs with it. It would be a lot of work, but Fallout 4 really does lay the groundwork for a perfect Walking Dead game, either as a mod, or as its own separate title down the road.Follow me,.

Pick up my sci-fi novels, and, which are now in print and online. Why do people still love The Walking Dead?
